# Website, server and domain operations consolidated

The Tropical Seas website was migrated to a new server. Since then, the support has also covered domain management, minor fixes and the technical assessment of the next platform generation.

## Starting point

The existing website was to be moved to a new server and technical operations consolidated. This also included domain management and fixing minor errors in the live system.

Alongside the ongoing support, it is being assessed how a planned new website can sensibly be taken over and operated from a technical point of view.

1. Take stock of operations Website, server and domain configuration were recorded as one connected technical environment.
2. Carry out the server migration The existing website was transferred to the new server in a controlled way.
3. Organise domain operations Domain management and technical responsibilities were integrated into the ongoing support.
4. Handle errors continuously Minor problems in the live system are analysed and fixed.
5. Assess the next step A technical audit evaluates the planned new platform and a sensible transition.

## Technical decision

### Stabilise operations before taking over the next platform

A platform change is easier to plan when hosting, domain and the existing website are already clearly looked after. The server migration created a more orderly technical starting point for this.

The current audit separates the decision about the future website from day-to-day operations: first it is checked which solution can be taken over and what requirements exist for maintenance, security, SEO and performance.
