WordPress emergency

WordPress hacked? Clean up, secure, remove the cause.

With redirects, warnings, suspicious files or a suspension by the host, a controlled approach is what counts. The website is not just cleaned on the surface – the cause has to be found and closed as far as possible. Such enquiries are reviewed before planned projects; JK Concepts is not a 24/7 emergency service, however, and cannot promise an immediate response.

What you should do right now

Do not change files at random and do not delete any evidence. Preserve existing clues, inform the host if the site has been suspended and avoid further logins from devices that may be compromised.

If possible, note down redirects you have seen, warnings, times and the most recent changes. This information helps with the root-cause analysis.

When this service makes sense

Strange redirects

Visitors end up on spam, phishing or advertising pages, sometimes only on mobile devices or when coming from search engines.

Warning or suspension

The browser, Google, a security service or the hosting provider reports malicious code or takes the website offline.

Suspicious users and files

Unknown administrator accounts, modified files or unusual processes appear.

Shop or content data has been changed

Orders, pages or settings are missing and the integrity of the system is unclear.

What it can include

Preserve the current state

Files, database, logs and existing backups are secured before changes wherever possible.

Identify malicious code

Suspicious files, users, database entries and changes are investigated.

Restore clean components

WordPress core and extensions are checked and replaced from trusted sources where needed.

Secure access

Relevant passwords, keys, users and permissions are renewed in a controlled way.

Analyse the cause

Outdated components, compromised accounts or other entry points are identified as far as possible.

Hardening and follow-up checks

The attack surface is reduced and the cleaned installation is monitored further.

How we work together

Clear intermediate steps make technical decisions, risks and costs easy to follow.

  1. Contain

Limit further damage and preserve the current state.

  2. Analyse

Check the extent, malicious code, users and possible entry points.

  3. Clean up

Remove malicious changes and restore trusted files.

  4. Secure

Renew access, close vulnerabilities and harden the configuration.

  5. Monitor

Carry out follow-up checks and optionally set up ongoing care.

Malware clean-up with a clearly defined scope

The starting price applies to a confirmed, clearly defined WordPress installation. Several websites, compromised hosting accounts, lost shop data or extensive repairs to third-party code are quoted separately.

  • No guarantee based on a mere scanner result
  • Plan for credential changes and root-cause analysis
  • A rebuild is recommended if integrity cannot be reliably restored

Frequently asked questions

Answers to practical questions before you commission the work.

Does a hacked website always have to be rebuilt?

No. If integrity and a trustworthy state can be restored, a clean-up can be more economical. With a deep or untraceable compromise, a clean rebuild is sometimes safer.

Is a malware scanner enough?

No. Scanners can provide clues, but the entry point, users, database, credentials, backups and server environment must be taken into account as well.

Can lost orders be recovered?

Only if suitable, clean data sources or backups exist. Reconstructing lost transaction data is not automatically part of a standard clean-up.

What happens after the clean-up?

Hardening, current backups, restore tests, monitoring and maintenance that matches how critical the website is are recommended.
